LSM Delivers CNG Buses to FG for Airport Shuttle Services

The Lagos State Motor (LSM) company has officially delivered a fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to the Federal Government for use as airport shuttle services. This initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts to integrate cleaner energy solutions into Nigeria's transportation sector, aligning with global trends in energy transition.

The buses, which are locally assembled, reflect the administration's push towards promoting indigenous manufacturing capabilities while reducing the environmental footprint of public transportation. The project also underscores the Federal Government's commitment to providing affordable and eco-friendly transportation options for citizens.

During the handover ceremony, officials from LSM highlighted the efficiency and sustainability of the CNG buses. "These vehicles are designed to meet international standards for safety and environmental compliance. They offer significant cost savings compared to diesel or petrol-powered buses," an LSM representative stated.

The Minister of Transportation, who received the buses on behalf of the government, expressed optimism about the potential impact of the initiative. He noted that the deployment of CNG buses would not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also serve as a model for other states to emulate.

Passengers and airport operators have welcomed the development, citing the potential for reduced transportation costs and improved air quality around airports. This marks a significant step forward in Nigeria's journey toward a sustainable energy future.
